Jewish Camp Scholarship Application

I am pleased to forward this Jewish Camp Scholarship Application on behalf of the Jewish Camp Scholarship Committee. The Jewish Camp Scholarship Committee is composed of representatives of The Santa Barbara Jewish Community Foundation, the Jewish Federation of Santa Barbara, Congregation B’nai B’rith and Camp Haverim.

These four organizations have joined together to simplify the scholarship application process for families seeking a Jewish camp scholarship from any of our organizations. Rather than applying separately to one or more of our member organizations, families seeking a scholarship to help send their child(ren) to a Jewish camp need to fill out only this one scholarship application.

Please carefully and completely fill out this scholarship application. If you are applying for a scholarship for more than one child, please complete a separate scholarship application for each child seeking a scholarship.

Scholarship applications will be reviewed (and kept strictly confidential) by the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee is composed of me, serving as chair, and representatives of the Santa Barbara Jewish Community Foundation, Congregation B’nai B’rith and the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara. (When the Committee considers scholarship applications for campers who will be attending Camp Haverim, Itzik Ben Sasson may be asked to serve as an advisor to, but will not be a member of, the Scholarship Committee.)

Since we have limited funds available for scholarships and the Scholarship Committee will be meeting to consider scholarship applications as they are received, we urge you to submit your scholarship application as soon as possible. All scholarship applications must be received by May 31, 2011. You will be notified of the amount of your scholarship promptly after it has been determined by the Scholarship Committee.

Please understand that the total dollar amount of scholarships requested far exceeds the amount of funds we have available for scholarships. Consequently, we may not be able to award the full amount of the scholarship you request.
